Freelance Copywriting with a Creative Edge
I write copy for all kinds of projects – short or long, web or print – and will go the extra mile to help you achieve your marketing goals. Check out my FAQ section and my free resources for both businesses and writers.
If you're in the mood for more, you can also find examples of my fiction and non-fiction, information about my photography and photography samples on this site.
Elinor Teele
I'm a writer, a photographer and, occasionally, a ham (otherwise known as an actor). I began freelancing in 2007 and since then have worked most closely with Catalog Design Studios and Stackpole & Partners. I have written copy for wildlife control suppliers, food companies, New England craftspeople, banks and legal firms.
A regular reviewer of fiction and non-fiction for the California Literary Review, I also write essays and interviews for this cultural and literary magazine.
Previous to freelancing, I experienced hands-on training in every stage of the marketing process as a marketing coordinator with WIDE World at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Work included:
• writing the monthly newsletter, marketing collateral and articles for educational publications
• helping draft email and print campaigns and tracking their effectiveness
• collaborating with other departments on the new website and trade show display
Obscure Claim to Fame
I hold a PhD in English Literature from the University of Cambridge, England. My thesis was on the "Heroic Tradition in the Old English Riddles," a compilation of evocative and bawdy poems written in the language of Beowulf. Find them translated into modern English at the Kalamazoo Riddle Group.
